Our insurance agency was formed in August, 2001 as an insurance agency affiliate to Diversified Human Resources and was originally named BDL Financial, LLC.  Diversified Human Resources is a Professional Employer Organization (PEO)  – an outsourcing firm for Payroll, HR Services, Risk Management, Employee Benefits, and Workers’ Compensation options for employers.

The agency represents a number of national and regional insurance carriers with A.M. Best ratings of “A” or better.  We also hold insurance licenses in many states to provide services for all clients in Arizona and out-of-state businesses or personal properties.

In 2008, Diversified Human Resources reached out to a number of individuals with extensive insurance expertise, background, and consultative experience to expand the insurance offerings:

• Travis Hair, the previous 28-year employee and President of Schaefer-Smith-Ankeney Insurance – one of the largest independently owned insurance agencies in Arizona  – joined BDL Financial as CEO/President.
• Terri O’Neal-Boyd, an 18-year employee and the previous EVP/COO of Schaefer-Smith-Ankeney Insurance also joined BDL Financial as SVP/COO.
• Wendy Look, a 15-year employee and previous Sr. Benefits Account Executive of Schaefer-Smith-Ankeney Insurance joined BDL Financial as SVP/Employee Benefits Director.

A number of other previous Schaefer-Smith-Ankeney employees are with the insurance agency and have helped create the focus and culture of  “Customer First”.

At the end of 2009, the insurance agency name was changed from BDL Financial, LLC, to DHR Insurance Services, LLC.

In early 2010, DHR Insurance Services acquired Benefit Advisors, Inc. – an independent firm specializing in Employee Benefits and related products.  Benefit Advisors also adds to the “Customer First” culture.

DHR Insurance Services is focused on the specific needs of each customer and tailoring an insurance program to meet those needs.
